New release by C.E. Wilson – A Death’s Awakening

Hadley knows Death wants her. Maybe she wants him too.

C.E.Wilson.ADeathsAwakening.eBook

Description:

At least that’s what it feels like to her some days. Hadley’s life follows a triangular path of home, school, and the pharmacy to stock up on inhalers, lozenges, and cough syrup.

But, her predictably mundane deterioration is unexpectedly interrupted when Hunter walks into her classroom. He’s not only gorgeous, but for some crazy reason he’s interested in her. The girl who looks like she’s two steps from death’s door. That’s why she couldn’t care less discovering that Hunter works for death. She’s drawn to this hot new boy who makes her feel alive again. Even if it means unleashing his dark secrets.

A Death’s Awakening is a YA dystopian novel that forces readers to ask if death is a person who can actually see, touch… or even fall in love. Author C.E. Wilson has watched every episode of The Twilight Zone and it shows in the third episode of her series, Somewhere In-Between.

Blurb:

I know death follows me.

It’s one of those things which makes being a high school student a little less than optimal. I can’t remember the last time I participated in gym class without needing my inhaler or ending up passed out on the floor. It doesn’t take much since I have chronic Bronchiectasis, but I try to make it as fashionable as possible.

Yeah, that’s about as lame as it sounds.

I always carry around handkerchiefs in my pockets like an old man and crave my inhaler the same way a few of my friends crave cigarettes. My skin always has a bluish tint to it like I’m a vampire from the first Twilight movie, and not in the sexy way. I always try to tell myself things could be worse. School keeps me busy, but that doesn’t mean that my illness isn’t always a few thoughts away.

Which leads to death.

I always feel it lurking somewhere. Watching me. Following me.

MY REVIEW – 5 STARS

This is one of this read that you need a tissue during reading!
C.E. Wilson created a wonderful story with characters that were memorable for all readers. Hadley, i fell in love with her personality – she has her conditions (illness) but she for sure won’t be sitting and cring about it. Hunter a boy, that change himself during the night (check how!) and he works for Death and he doesn’t know who he was.
Check how their relationship will go, and how it will end – for me totaly unexpected!
I love style of C.E. Wilson and i want more of this series!

Review:

This is my third book from Othala series – and once again it met my expectations as a great read where in each Sector things are different but still there are similarities 🙂
The plot was good and went smoothly, it had few surprises for me during book. The emotions were well described, i smiled and cried during they journey.
Jayla, what i can say i really enjoyed her way of thinking and being. Memories, were like a gift to me (you will get to know it during reading). She rocks!
Kip – a man that is loveable but he also got on my nerve (twice i thing) – and i was glad a he’s not perfect 🙂 but still an ideal companion 🙂

The side characters were full from blood and flesh as main ones 🙂

I recommend it to people who enjoy: paranormal romance, strong women and man, fight with evil!

Mistrusted as a supernatural freak, all Joshua wants to do is lay low until graduation. But when vandalism, thefts, and other crimes start plaguing the school, all fingers point to him. And when one crime takes a turn for the deadly, it’s up to Joshua to clear his name. If he doesn’t, he risks more than expulsion.
He risks paying the ultimate penalty.
Review:
What would you do when you are a boy whose father is a vampire and Roman general. Your mather – a witch that went missing some time ago. Almost everyone think you are a half-breed looser!
You would sink in it, but not Josh – he tries to prove them in some way that he is who he is!
I liked the way Josh was created, as boy who knows what mean hard life and that he has his own issues. He’s really clever and inteligent. I was amazed by this. And for sure he is a born to-be-leader.
Main character is well developted, others are also good, but not as much.
There we can find bad guys, romance, friendship and of course lessons.
What i can say, i’m looking forward to read next book.
