Arvata is thriving and Kali is finally getting a handle on being an Elder. She’s been learning her Arelia abilities while enjoying being a newlywed. The only thing missing from Arvata is their town healer, who left a year ago and didn’t tell anyone why.

Lorelle finally returns and explains to the Elders what the Fates had assigned to her, but she now needs their help with the mission. Half-Guardians, that shouldn’t even exist in their world, are out there and need to be protected, but time is running out.

Dark magic lurks within these hybrids and nobody knows how they came to be. They possess powers unlike full Guardians and it’s up to Kali and her friends to figure out how to protect the half-Guardians and prevent more from being created.

(The Harker Trilogy, #3)
Publication date: May 31st 2017

The thrilling conclusion to The Harker Trilogy

I’m finally free of my family’s curse.

Except now, the world is ending. FML.

Anthony, the vampire that killed my sister and my brother-in-law, has won. I’ve lost everything. I no longer have my powers. I have no idea where Amelia is. And the vampire I love has surrendered to the hunger that is throwing the world into chaos.

The worst part? I can’t do anything about it, because I’m no longer the Harker. Sure, I’m not dying anymore, but I’m barely living at this point.

But there may be one last chance to save us all. If only I can find it in me to make one final sacrifice.

The complete trilogy is on sale for only $0.99 until June 5th!

EXCERPT:

The Twinkie is mushed and some of the cream is coming out, but as I pull it out of the wrapper, I can’t help but be gentle.

I found the single-serve pastry in a hollowed-out convenience store in downtown Birmingham a few days back. It’s the only thing resembling a cake that we’ve found on our way to Austin. In the aftermath of the apocalypse, all the grocery stores are empty as everyone panicked and stole every little thing they could get their hands on. Many of them are now hiding out in their houses during the night.

Those that are alive anyways.

I could make a cake myself, but we are never in one place long enough for me to find an oven and make one. With one arm, it’s a little…hard.

Besides, this is just a small ritual that I want to do myself. I don’t need to decorate it. I just need to…pay tribute. With the only kind of food that would survive the apocalypse.

I light the candle that I stuck in it, its soft glow flickering in the dying light. I give a small smile, feeling my heart break.

“Happy birthday, Amelia.”

Review:

This is my first book from Mary and for sure not the last one!
This book start with the eathquacke, than slow down a little and finally speed up again. I loved the idea of losing memories or so, it was really well written – i felt bad about it thought whole book.
All characters have good and bad side, althought there are some that emphesize only one part of it.
The concept of plot was new for me – and that not happen very often.
I recommend it to people who like: PNR, Urban fantasy, kick-ass women, all kind of creatures mixed in one world!

A supernatural boarding school. A missing potion. A ghostly figure. A mage who might one day save the world . . . if he can survive.
My father lied. This wasn’t high school. This was hell.
Still grieved over his witch mother’s disappearance, Joshua the mage is shipped off to a paranormal boarding school by his cold vampire father. Mistrusted as a supernatural freak, all Joshua wants to do is lay low until graduation. But when vandalism, thefts, and other crimes start plaguing the school, all fingers point to him. And when one crime takes a turn for the deadly, it’s up to Joshua to clear his name. If he doesn’t, he risks more than expulsion.
He risks paying the ultimate penalty.
Review:
What would you do when you are a boy whose father is a vampire and Roman general. Your mather – a witch that went missing some time ago. Almost everyone think you are a half-breed looser!
You would sink in it, but not Josh – he tries to prove them in some way that he is who he is!
I liked the way Josh was created, as boy who knows what mean hard life and that he has his own issues. He’s really clever and inteligent. I was amazed by this. And for sure he is a born to-be-leader.
Main character is well developted, others are also good, but not as much.
There we can find bad guys, romance, friendship and of course lessons.
What i can say, i’m looking forward to read next book.

Seth is also a Natural, and Layna not only finds herself drawn to him and his powers, but the harder she falls for him, the more her past begins to emerge. Memories which were erased to keep her safe. To keep her hidden. And to keep her away from Seth.
According to a prophecy, Layna has the ability to stop her sister and the council from destroying the sector. And only Seth can help her. But there’s one problem. Seth isn’t only her true soul mate, but according to the prophecy, he’s destined to kill her. Unless, she can change the future.
Review:
This is my second book from Othala world and it’s on the same level. I think i became addict to these world!
In these story we have strong and well developt characters that make the story very realistic in this point.
Layna is a sister of Regent but she is more than that (see more in the book). The book is told from her perspective. Her emotions are so real to me, i felt them like my own! The mystery around her slowly change into masterpice created by Shannon!
Seth wow! This is guy who can be tough and strong when he has to be and he can be nice and soft when he has that kind of moment! I want him!
The plot and the idea were made with a lot effort and you can see it while reading – events make sense in plot.
Generaly i liked this book very much but i would love to make Lyana less scary of her powers.
I recommend it to pnr lover, readers who love good plot and steam 😉

Othala with winter background – Winter Souls by Angela Fristoe

Mason will never forget the day Elora disappeared over the ice bridge. It was the day the Ice Witch tore out his soul. He has settled into his life as a Tank Guard, protecting the small inlet at the northern edge of the sector from ravagers. But with Elora’s return, he has an opportunity to reclaim his soul and the life he thought lost forever.

It’s a dangerous task that will lead Mason and Elora to the depths of the Underworld. It’s a journey none has ever returned from.

Review:

This is a story that shows what can you do for those who you love or used to love few years ago, even if that person changed almost completely. Can you throw away everything and do whatever is needed?
The heroine – Elora went through hell for six years but found strength to fight and go on her own, do what she had to do. I liked her attitude: seemed weak and fragile, but inside she was strong.
The hero – Mason – soulless guy, who beside it still has something inside.
This book is steamy in some parts. Plot made in good way. They deal with a lot of obstacles in sometimes better way than others.
You have to read it!

I came from other world, the story of the teenager who found his heirtage – The Mark of Noba by G. L. Tomas

Description:

Sterling Wayfairer has one goal for his senior year: make his mark. He’s been slipping into the background his whole high school career—distracted by his mother’s mental health, unsettled by the vivid dreams that haunt him at night, and overshadowed by the athletic accomplishments of his popular best friends. But this year is going to be different. He’s going to break a few rules, have some fun, and maybe even work up the nerve to ask his crush out on a date.
But things don’t go exactly as planned. Students are disappearing, Sterling starts losing time, and it all seems to center around Tetra, a girl no one else seems to notice but him. When he finally tracks her down for answers, they aren’t what he expects: He and Tetra hail from a world called Noba, and they’re being hunted by a Naga, a malevolent shape shifter that’s marked them for destruction.
Tetra and Sterling have distinct abilities that can help them fight back, but their power depends heavily on the strength of their bond, a connection that transcends friendship, transcends romance. Years apart have left their bond weak. Jump starting it will require Sterling to open his heart and his mind and put his full trust in the mysterious Tetra.
If he doesn’t, neither of them will survive.

Review:

Where to begin (as all minds want to scream in one time)
For sure i LOVED it!!
The cover is, well… just accurate, not to much, not too little just perfect 🙂
This is a mix of young adult and fantasy genere. We have each of it in proportions that won’t make reader overwhelmed during reading.
Each character has place in this story, all of them has personality and different relationships with each other (which is sometimes very hard to write in good way) 🙂
This story its written in first person (mostly Sterling’s point of view and less Tetra’s). Sterling is a strange character i can’t say I loved him, but for sure i liked him. Tetra is totally different story – i loved her way of being so naive sometimes 🙂 Her dialogues with Sterling or Kip made me lough almost out loud 🙂
The plot goes rather smoothly, i didn’t have problems with understanding it 🙂
I recommend it to people who love Young Adult; interesting characters and very well written plot 🙂
