Find your love in the past – A dragon’s destiny by Tina Glasneck

Published: October 2016

Curses are destined to be broken…
In this the first of the Dragons series, time travel and fantasy are weaved together in a fast-paced, funny yet emotional romance.
Jaz, a fish out of water in the real world, discovers that she is actually a dragon who must seek her true destiny in another, parallel place. There she discovers that Erich, the man she secretly lusts after in real time, is the Dark Knight, ruthlessly extinguishing the ancient Norse religion in an emerging Christian world.
Is he the beloved Jaz is tasked to find in order to release her dragon heart?

This book is set in two timelines. This made me sometimes confused: jumping from 2016 to 1520 was sometimes too fast even if there were different chapters.
Book is wtitten in three perspectives. That was well sepreted and described.
Characters have both good and bad sides. They acted realistic in my opinion.
There was one thing that i would add more: Jazz struggling in 1520. Fot me it was too ideal to a modern women to have almost no problems bedtpides her attitiude and language.
Norse mythology is not a well known one so i was glad to read a book using it!
This is a book for romance lover, people who like sharp women characters.

Book two in noir world – The queen of diamonds by Patricia Loofbourrow

Author: Patricia Loofborrow

Published: October 2016

IBSN13: 9781944223038

While the villain Frank Pagliacci has been defeated, all is not well in Bridges. The Four Families accuse each other of spying while Red Dog attacks escalate. Aristocratic jewel merchant Dame Anastasia Louis, styling herself “The Queen of Diamonds,” hires her long-time friend, private eye Jacqueline Spadros, to collect from her debtors so she can leave the city.
But Jacqui can’t leave David Bryce’s kidnapping and the murders of her teenage informants unpunished. Convinced that her mortal enemy, the madman “Black Jack” Diamond, was complicit in the crimes, she pursues ways to prove it. The scoundrel and his crew, however, seem to be one step ahead: the terrifying man in white is seen outside David’s home, forged letters are appearing across the city, and merchants in the Spadros quadrant report threats from a man who fits his description.
Jacqui is warned of a plot against her life. Those who try to warn Jacqui are murdered, and evidence emerges that Jacqui’s mother is next on the list. With time running out, Jacqui is forced to make a horrifying choice.
Someone will surely die. Will it be Jacqui, or her mother?

Second book of the series, Patricia still know her work. The same level as first book. Super!
Cover is stunning! It doesn’t overwhelmed reader, and make you curious what is inside the book.
Here Jacqui has to deal with one of Diamond’s – get evidences for his deeds in the past. We follow Jacqui in her mission (like in first book).
Everything in this book has it’s place (nothing come like in blink without reason that were written earlier or further in te book). Events are well described that made me think i was in the middle of it!
I can tell i’m not a huge fan of these kind of books, but here I LOVE IT!
This book has a little slower pace then first one, but still twists were like in some old castles (i thought abut GoT n that parts).
I recommend this book to people who like: first person; independent women in mans world; fast paced story; elements of mistery.

Strange ability and love in space – Sail by Lindsey R. Loucks

31924378Author: Lindsey R. Loucks

Published: October 2016
Nineteen-year-old Absidy Jones is a ghost magnet, a sensitive person spirits flock to when they can’t cross over. After her brutal past escaping the hordes of ghosts vying for her attention, she spends her reclusive existence melting down iron into bite-sized pieces. Whether alloy or wrought, ancient paper clips or nails, consuming iron is the only thing that keeps the ghosts away.
But when Absidy’s sister goes missing in deep space, a dangerous place brimming with rogue planets, ship-eating nebulas, and vicious aliens, Absidy vows to find her. She leaves her safe haven and boards the first ship she can that’s on a direct route to deep space—a ship that turns out to be haunted.
To keep the malicious ghosts from killing her, the alluring bad boy pilot gifts her a small bundle of all the iron on the ship. But their growing relationship is tested with the crew’s prying eyes and hidden secrets.
While the ship sails into deep space, it’s not just her sister’s life that Absidy fears for. It’s her own, as well. Especially since her stash of iron has shrunk to zero.
In this book we are in space (far far away). The concept of this book if you ask me is very unusual – it was the reason i stared reading it.
It was a good book just to read and then wait for the second (it had lots of twists, but unfortunately not that big in romance level).
A. Jones – girl with strange power that make her shiver. She was good, the way she behaved with ghosts around and about iron (i like it very much – realistic). She would do anything for her older sister 🙂
Mase – sometimes i loved him and then i another started almost hating him.
Aliens (Saelis) were very strange; but made hmm… i was sure what they are about sometimes.
I will wait for next book as it made me interesting how they will deal with aliens 🙂

Women detective in neo-Victorian time -The Jacq of Spades by Patricia Loofbourrow

Author: Patricia Loofbourrow

IBSN: 1944223002

Publish: November 2015

The once-beautiful domed neo-Victorian city of Bridges is split between four crime families in an uneasy cease-fire. Social disparity increasing and its steam-driven infrastructure failing, a new faction is on the rise: the Red Dogs.
Jacqueline Spadros has a dream life: a wealthy husband, a powerful family. But her life is not what it seems. Kidnapped from her mother’s brothel and forced to marry, the murder of her best friend Air ten years before haunts her nightmares. She finds moments of freedom in a small-time private eye business, which she hides in fear of her sadistic father-in-law.
Air’s little brother disappears off his back porch and the Red Dogs are framed for it. With the help of a mysterious gentleman investigator hired by the Red Dogs to learn the truth, Jacqui pushes her abilities to their limits in hope of rescuing the child before the kidnapper disposes of him.

This is my first book written by Patricia Loofbourrow and i hope not the last one.
Book is in first person (Jacqueline Spadros) who is a main character in this series. I thought it would be an easy going book with not big surprises, but IT WAS NOT!!
Jaqui is a brilliant women, she wants to live fully in the world where mans are ruling everything. She try to deal with other people, to find her place and make everything well.
Each character has its own role and a way of behaving (like Roy or Tony), that made this book full, it has depth 🙂
The detective thing inside made book a good pace, action moved smoothly and wisely.

I recommend this book to people who like reading in first person, detective thing, women who can live/find her way in world dominated by mens.

Patricia it was brilliant, thank you!

Can Rory stop the Trepan Killer before he loses all? To do so, he must face more than the killer. He must face his own harrowing past …

This is my first book written by Susan and you know what: I really like it and i will have very high expectations when i begin her other book. This in an ARC provided in exchange for honest review 🙂
What do we need to make A good book:
interesting characters – they are for sure!
blooming relationship – yeah!
bad one behind the scene – present!
good plot – it’s brilliant!
Main character seems to be a normal guy, but that is not not true. He has A power (look at the title 🙂 ).
We see his struggles how to deal with his power, emotions and this bad one.
Fragments from past – i loved them!
Next in queue is: heroine, or rather just bus passenger for about half of the book. that was very unusual for my, because most authors rather put characters in front lina since the beginning.
The Trepan Killer, chapters from his perspective – short and so straight – it allowed me to see something in his mind 🙂
If there is an sequel i would love to read it!
