F*king shattered – that book was great!

I’ve always been the shy, quiet one.
My best friend, the fun-loving, outgoing one.
When she’s gone, taken away entirely way too soon,
I have to learn how to live. And not just for me, but for her too.

I have to live for the both of us.

That means doing things I’d never do, stepping out of the shadows
to join the rest of the world- taking chances, falling in love,
and getting into a little trouble along the way.

Losing my best friend broke me.

And when a person breaks,
They f*cking shatter.

“To be able to take such a heavy story, yet make it light and humorous takes talent, talent that K.B. Andrews has in spades.” -Reviews by Reds

New release by C.E. Wilson – A Death’s Awakening

Hadley knows Death wants her. Maybe she wants him too.

At least that’s what it feels like to her some days. Hadley’s life follows a triangular path of home, school, and the pharmacy to stock up on inhalers, lozenges, and cough syrup.

But, her predictably mundane deterioration is unexpectedly interrupted when Hunter walks into her classroom. He’s not only gorgeous, but for some crazy reason he’s interested in her. The girl who looks like she’s two steps from death’s door. That’s why she couldn’t care less discovering that Hunter works for death. She’s drawn to this hot new boy who makes her feel alive again. Even if it means unleashing his dark secrets.

A Death’s Awakening is a YA dystopian novel that forces readers to ask if death is a person who can actually see, touch… or even fall in love. Author C.E. Wilson has watched every episode of The Twilight Zone and it shows in the third episode of her series, Somewhere In-Between.

I know death follows me.

It’s one of those things which makes being a high school student a little less than optimal. I can’t remember the last time I participated in gym class without needing my inhaler or ending up passed out on the floor. It doesn’t take much since I have chronic Bronchiectasis, but I try to make it as fashionable as possible.

Yeah, that’s about as lame as it sounds.

I always carry around handkerchiefs in my pockets like an old man and crave my inhaler the same way a few of my friends crave cigarettes. My skin always has a bluish tint to it like I’m a vampire from the first Twilight movie, and not in the sexy way. I always try to tell myself things could be worse. School keeps me busy, but that doesn’t mean that my illness isn’t always a few thoughts away.

Which leads to death.

I always feel it lurking somewhere. Watching me. Following me.

What reviewers think of A Death’s Awakening?

Reviews only 5 and 4 stars!

This is one of this read that you need a tissue during reading!
C.E. Wilson created a wonderful story with characters that were memorable for all readers. Hadley, i fell in love with her personality – she has her conditions (illness) but she for sure won’t be sitting and cring about it. Hunter a boy, that change himself during the night (check how!) and he works for Death and he doesn’t know who he was.
Check how their relationship will go, and how it will end – for me totaly unexpected!
I love style of C.E. Wilson and i want more of this series!

An unlikely friendship brimming with undeniable attraction blossoms into an unexpected romance. While Maura and Zack struggle to heal, to forgive, to accept, they also learn how to let go and allow themselves to fall in love, a truth they’ve both known but resisted all the while.

This is a book about hurt people that struggle with their present after death of important person in their life.
The plot is so Vivid, that i needed to take a break during reading! As i mostly feel what characters feel. So miss Azzi did a great job!
Maura – a strong girl that lost her way, after her brother death. She’s senior, but all she can do is makeing herself numb. Her own struggling and trauma moments were so well described. (More in the book)
Zack – a guy that melt each girl heart, but not Maura in first place. What i can tell each of us would love to have someone like that by our sides. He did what guy shoud have done in that pary of girl life.
What i can tell? I loved that book and characters that and not artificial, but also do bad and don’t go over it in miraculus way!
Romance dane will love it for sure!

Falling in love isn’t supposed to be deadly.
In Sector Twelve, being a Natural isn’t only dangerous, it’s a death sentence. And Layna just happens to be one. If the council were to find out, they would surely kill her, regardless whether her sister is the Regent or not. She had sworn to her mother she would keep her abilities a secret, and she has no intentions of breaking that promise. Then Seth came along.
Seth is also a Natural, and Layna not only finds herself drawn to him and his powers, but the harder she falls for him, the more her past begins to emerge. Memories which were erased to keep her safe. To keep her hidden. And to keep her away from Seth.
According to a prophecy, Layna has the ability to stop her sister and the council from destroying the sector. And only Seth can help her. But there’s one problem. Seth isn’t only her true soul mate, but according to the prophecy, he’s destined to kill her. Unless, she can change the future.
This is my second book from Othala world and it’s on the same level. I think i became addict to these world!
In these story we have strong and well developt characters that make the story very realistic in this point.
Layna is a sister of Regent but she is more than that (see more in the book). The book is told from her perspective. Her emotions are so real to me, i felt them like my own! The mystery around her slowly change into masterpice created by Shannon!
Seth wow! This is guy who can be tough and strong when he has to be and he can be nice and soft when he has that kind of moment! I want him!
The plot and the idea were made with a lot effort and you can see it while reading – events make sense in plot.
Generaly i liked this book very much but i would love to make Lyana less scary of her powers.
I recommend it to pnr lover, readers who love good plot and steam 😉
