Revenge/normal life – Two graves by Zoe Kalo

Author: Zoe Kalo

Published: August 2016

(TWO GRAVES is a short novella, about 70 pages. It is volume #1 in Zoe Kalo’s psychological suspense “Retribution” series.)
A Dante-ish descent through a sinister world of decadent shadows and woeful souls…
Seven years ago, he shattered her life. The town eventually forgot the headlines and the nightmares. But 23-year old music student Angelica hasn’t forgotten.
For the past seven years, she’s contemplated payback with as much intensity and unwavering faith as she puts into her violin playing. Finally, all the pieces are in place. Over the course of one night, disguised for a masquerade ball, Angelica orchestrates a journey of revenge.

A short novel with something that makes you want to read more😉
We have here women full of vengeance and hope to get her revenge. She lived with only that purpose for 7 years.
I liked the concept of mixing Dante Inferno here and two time line – 7 years ago and present.
I would love to read other books in the series as this one made my curious🙂

This story is short and quick. It has to show world of the series.

This is my first book written by Susan and you know what: I really like it and i will have very high expectations when i begin her other book. This in an ARC provided in exchange for honest review 🙂
What do we need to make A good book:
interesting characters – they are for sure!
blooming relationship – yeah!
bad one behind the scene – present!
good plot – it’s brilliant!
Main character seems to be a normal guy, but that is not not true. He has A power (look at the title 🙂 ).
We see his struggles how to deal with his power, emotions and this bad one.
Fragments from past – i loved them!
Next in queue is: heroine, or rather just bus passenger for about half of the book. that was very unusual for my, because most authors rather put characters in front lina since the beginning.
The Trepan Killer, chapters from his perspective – short and so straight – it allowed me to see something in his mind 🙂
If there is an sequel i would love to read it!

Destroyed Bombay and blooming love – Taken by Laxmi Hariharan

Author: Laxmi Hariharan

Published:  September 2016

Aria West: If I get out of here alive, I am never to going to let myself feel so powerless ever again
Jai Iyeroy: Everything in my past has lead up to this moment, for I am sworn to protect this city.
Three years ago Jai allowed the only woman he loved to walk out of his life. But Aria’s back now. Except her life is in danger, and this time Jai will do anything, even break his vow to protect his city, to keep her safe.
Set in a near-future where successive economic downturns in the West have resulted in refugees seeking shelter in the East

Women that you love or a promise you have to your mother before her death? This is Jai’s question for well 80% of book.
We meet Jai as young boy, still not an adult, he tries to find his place in this dystopian and tough world, for Ruby’s son it won’t be that easy. After 3 ,years he is an adult who knows his place but still feel something to the girl he met 3 years ago.
Aria was created brilliantly. What she felt in good or bad moments was described that way i could imagine it sometimes as my emotions. The way she treat Jai after 3 years was do real not artificial like i read somewhere.
I was very sad for Maya she has chosen other path than i thought. There was also a game for being a Mayor of Bombay 🙂
I want to read more of your works Laxmi!!
In general: very good book to read
Recommendation: if you like romance; dystopian worlds, shifters (not as main characters) this is book for you 🙂
I was given arc in exchange for honest review 🙂

Next meeting in so-called-medieval time -From Now On by Susan A. Royal

Author: Susan A. Royal

Published: May 2014

Griffin has traveled across centuries to reunite with the woman he loves, but he and Erin may not get their ‘happy ever after’. Not if Lady Isobeil has anything to do with it. She forces Griffin to leave Erin behind and travel to eerie Manx Island. When he goes missing, Erin and his friends set out to find him. Followed by his strong-willed sister, Kateryn, they ride to Swansea and secure passage with the notorious Captain Akin.
Erin sees firsthand how the island earned its dark reputation when she battles freakish weather, encounters a race of little people known as “Prowlies”. She experiences ghosts of the long departed and discovers the “ley lines” crossing the island’s mountain peak that make time travel possible.
Yet these obstacles pale in comparison to the secrets Erin uncovers while determined to rescue the man she loves.

Sequel of the book “It’s about time” is on the sam level as book one! So you can see in star rating!!
We find here a women from 21th century who loved man from anther time, and this man is in love with her.
It’s a story about risking everything you know or have for the one you love. We find here something about Erin’s family (very surprising!).
This book has lots of detail from the medieval time.
And this ending made me almost fall from the chair – brilliant!
I recommend this book to medieval and romance lovers. With a bit of technology. 🙂
I loved this book. Good job of the author 🙂

I can for sure tell that i can’t wait to read book 3 🙂

Everybody loves to dream. They dream of becoming what they want. One such extraordinary dream was that of William Dunk. A teenager, living in North Bellwood, William Dunk aspires to become a spy.Growing up among spy novels and movies, he consequently loses his interest in his medical studies that his father Richard Dunk, a well known businessman, had pushed him to do. His obsession for becoming a spy results in his expulsion from high school. His father loses his calm and banishes him from his mansion. William moves to South Bellwood and finds a best friend in his neighbor. The two embark on a mission to fulfill William’s dream. But is it really easy to go through after what one wants they get? After all, Bigger the aims, bigger the risks!

I received this bok in exchange for honest review.
The story goes around young boy – William – who is crazy about being a spy. The story doesn’t have big twist, it goes smoothly. We see how William deal with his ‘normal’ life as an agent.
This book needs some editing, sometimes i found lack of it. Also I would appreciate more descriptions of places, emotions.
It’s a short story for one evening 🙂
After reading it, I can see that Naila has potential, but she needs to work on it 🙂

Awesome beginning of the series – Awakened by Laxmi Hariharan

Author: Laxmi Hariharan

Published: July 2016

**Formerly called The Many Lives of Ruby Iyer.

When her best friend is kidnapped, Ruby will stop at nothing to rescue him. Criminals run the streets of Bombay. Jam-packed with the worst degenerates. The city is a shell of the pride and joy it used to be. Ruby knows something must be done, but it isn’t until her best friend is kidnapped by the despotic Dr Braganza that she knows that she and she alone must save city, save her best friend, save the world from total destruction. Armed only with Vikram, a cop-turned-rogue they are about to embark on a road they may never return from.

The place (BOMBAY) is so unusual for action in the books, that makes this place, well for me like from a dream.

From chapter 1, we are thrown inside middle of the action, you have to stay focus all the time or you will have to read previous page again 😉
Ruby is a normal (rather) girl, is involved in something much bigger than she thought at first. Then she have to deal with kidnapping, guns, knowledge of her origins and the most important emotions, especially love
Characters have very different personalities, different way of dealing with life 🙂

Generally, book has smooth action, lots of twists.

Very good pice of work, my 3rd book of Laxmi ❤

Brilliant book – third from Laxmi – and I still loved it!!

Laxmi’s sites: Twitter and Facebook.

Hope you will like it!
